After the success of last years first ever Lilifest, we have once again put together a varied programme of events to take place in the weeks either side of Lilias Day. Our main events you can pay for online are listed first below, with a full listing further down the page.

 

Lego Animation Workshop

Join us for an introduction to the world of stop-motion film-making with local animator, Morgan Spence. Morgan has amassed more than 10,000,000 online views of his animated films and he has appeared on the BBC and ABC television in the US discussing his work. He will present a 90 minute workshop where he will be sharing his experiences and knowledge of the craft before assisting participants in creating their own animated clips* using Lego.

*Please bring along your own tablet or phone with the free iMotion animating app.

An Evening with Rev Ian Miller

Kilbarchan’s favourite son returns for “An Evening With” event. Everyone who has had the pleasure of his company will know that Ian is a hugely entertaining raconteur with a Aladdin's Cave of anecdotes and jokes.

Kilbarchan Smile present an evening of rousing ceilidh music and much dancing with popular local band, Clamjamfrie. Demand for tickets is expected to be high so get yours early to avoid disappointment. It’s all for a good cause to reinvest in our lovely village!

All proceeds go to Kilbarchan Smile to help continue with improvements to the village.

Laura Cortese & The Dance Cards

Kilbarchan Performing Arts Centre

Laura Cortese & The Dance Cards are one of the most popular bands on the roots music circuit and were hailed by many as one of the highlights of the 2016 Shetland Folk Festival. They are back in the UK again as one of the main visiting acts at this year’s Orkney Folk Festival.

Last time they toured here, Songlines magazine drooled: "This was a celebration of American string playing par excellence.”

This family fun day will feature a performance by Loud and Proud, LEAP, Fairtrade/Coop and RSPB and other stalls. Young Habbies can join Kilbarchan storyteller Anne Pitcher for some interactive storytelling fun along with puppets, props, sound makers and songs. Hot dogs and refreshments (while stocks last).
